Bear Tavern Road

The Mercer County Department of Transportation and Infrastructure started the replacement of the bridge on Bear Tavern Road over Jacobs Creek this October. The original project was broken into two phases for the completion of the Bear Tavern Road Bridge over Jacobs Creek and the Jacobs Creek Road Bridge over Ewing Creek.

The contractor, Rencor, Incorporated of Somerville has proposed to complete both bridge phases at the same time in 270 calendar days (9 months) with the understanding that both bridges will be under construction at the same time.

As per your recent email, Hopewell Township Council has concurred with the contractor’s request to have both bridges under construction at the same time. Therefore, Jacobs Creek Road will be closed to traffic in the immediate area of this construction beginning November 14, 2013.
