Bridge Reconstruction Notice

On or about Monday, December 5, 2016 the Mercer County Department of Transportation and Infrastructure will start the rehabilitation of the two bridges on River Drive, one over Fiddlers Creek, and one over Steele Run, which have been closed for over three years.

Sections of River Drive, near these two bridges, will remain closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic for the duration of the project.

Instructions For Firearms Applicants

Application for Initial Firearms Purchaser I.D. Card

  • Complete and submit a Firearms Purchaser I.D. Card Application (STS-33) http://njsp.org/info/pdf/firearms/sts-033.pdf. Check the appropriate boxes at top of application. Complete the application in its entirety and, if hand written, please print legibly. Answer all questions fully and provide complete mailing addresses with zip codes for those individuals listed as references. Do not use a relative as a reference.

  • Complete and submit a Consent for Mental Health Records Search Form (SP-66) http://njsp.org/info/pdf/firearms/sp-066.pdf.

  • Application for a permit to purchase a handgun may be made, using the same application, at the time you apply for your initial firearms purchaser identification card.

  • Once the application is submitted you will be given an Identogo by Morphotrust USA form and will need to make an appointment with them so you can be fingerprinted. The cost for the fingerprinting is $57.20.

  • Once processing of the application is complete there will be a $5.00 fee for an initial Firearms Purchaser I.D. Card and a $2.00 fee for each permit to purchase a handgun (if applied for). The fee(s) can be paid in cash (exact change) or by personal check.

  • Applications are accepted every Tuesday between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Please call 609-737-3100 x0 in advance to ensure a detective is available. Applications will not be accepted by dispatchers.

 

Application for permit to purchase handgun, or replace a damaged, lost or stolen identification card
(you must be 21 years of age to purchase a handgun)

  • Complete and submit a Firearms Purchasers I.D. Card Application (STS-33) http://njsp.org/info/pdf/firearms/sts-033.pdf. Check the appropriate boxes at top of application. Complete the application in its entirety and, if hand written, please print legibly. Answer all questions fully and provide complete mailing addresses with zip codes for those individuals listed as references. Do not use a relative as a reference.

  • Complete and submit a Consent for Mental Health Records Search Form (SP-66) http://njsp.org/info/pdf/firearms/sp-066.pdf.

  • Applicants who currently possess a Firearms Purchaser I.D. Card must also complete a criminal history record information request for a non-criminal justice purpose form if they wish to:

    • Replace a current lost or stolen identification card.
    • Replace a mutilated identification card.
    • Change an address on a current identification card.
    • Change their name on identification card.
    • Change of Sex on identification card.
    • Apply to purchase a handgun(s).

 

This is completed by:

    • Logging onto: https://www.njportal.com/njsp/criminalrecords/

    • Click on the ON LINE FORM 212A, a highlighted block located on the lower left side of the page.

    • Enter the nine digit Originating Agency Identification Number (ORI) NJ0110600

    • Follow the prompts for demographic and payment information. There is a $20.00 fee for the submission. Upon completion of the form the applicant will receive an email confirmation & receipt that will include a confirmation number. Please bring a copy of the email confirmation receipt when dropping off your application.

    • The request will be forwarded to the Police Department’s work queue for approval and submission to the NJ State Police for processing.

Firearms paperwork and applications can be obtained online at http://www.hopewelltwp.org/police/firearms-information.html or at the Hopewell Township Police Department (can be picked up anytime).

After the processing of the application is completed you will be notified by the investigating Detective if your application has been approved or denied. If the application is approved the Detective will set up a date and time for you to come pick up the Firearms Identification Card and or permit(s).
