There is a severe shortage of poll workers. As a result, Mercer County is consolidating polling locations in every municipality for the June primary. This will affect some voters in Hopewell Township as their assigned polling locations will change.
District 4 will be voting at Pennington Borough Hall at 30 North Main Street in Pennington. These voters have been voting at the Hopewell branch of the Mercer County Library on Pennington-Titusville Road.
Districts 5 and 8 voting has been relocated to the Hopewell Valley Senior Center at 393 Reading Ave. in Pennington. These districts have been voting at HVRSD Administration Building at 425 South Main Street in Pennington.
All voters in Hopewell Township will be using a specially coded ballot for their district and the voting machines will be programmed to accept all ballots in those locations. Ballots will appear exactly as they always have, and no change in the ability to choose the candidate(s) of choice will occur. This includes the election for Township Committee.
Voters in the affected districts will be notified by the Mercer County Board of Elections in advance of the primary.
There will be no change in early voting, which is June 2-4. There are seven early voting locations in Mercer County, and voters can use any of them. The list can be found here https://www.mercercounty.org/government/county-clerk/elections. The closest location is at the Pennington Fire Company at 120 Broemel Place in Pennington. Early voting hours are 10am- 8pm on Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3, and 10am – 6pm on Sunday, June 4.
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 6. Voting hours are 6am – 8pm.
