PSE&G: People providing safe, reliable, economic and greener energy
July 8, 2021
Dear Valued Customer:
PSE&G and our approved contractors are completing underground construction activities in your neighborhood to continue to provide safe, reliable service. This construction is part of our statewide effort to rebuild the electric system infrastructure by bringing 69kV power throughout the state, to replace its 50-plus year old, 26kV lines. Crews are working on the PSE&G and public rights of way in Hopewell, Lawrence and Princeton Townships. Please note there are no planned electric service outages as a result of this activity.
Beginning on or around Monday, July 12, 2021, underground construction activities will take place along Carter Road between Elm Ridge Road and Carson Road as highlighted on the map below. Work hours will be between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some unavoidable construction noise may be generated. This portion of work is scheduled to continue through the September 2021. Temporary paving and restoration will occur every evening, and final paving and restoration is expected to be completed by the fall of 2021. All schedules are estimates, weather dependent and subject to change.
To safely complete this portion of work, a road closure will be utilized in the work area during the work hours listed above. Detours and flaggers will be in place to redirect traffic. Residents within the work zone will have access to their property. Please notify the officer on-site and they will accommodate all access needs immediately once safety protocols are implemented. Delivery companies (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc.) Waste Management, the Postal Service and school buses will also be allowed in the work area. PSE&G will work with the local police to safely control the flow of traffic for motorists and pedestrians.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the interest of maintaining the safety of our customers, our employees, and their families, PSE&G workers and PSE&G contractors follow safety guidelines put into place by the CDC and NJ State Department of Health, as well as all directives from the Governor’s Office and county/municipal governments. This includes that our workers practice social distancing and we ask that you also maintain a safe distance from our crews. PSE&G will not need to enter your home or business as a result of this work.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to complete these important upgrades to ensure safety and reliability. For questions or more information about the project, please call PSE&G’s Electric Reliability Hotline at 1-800-606-0045 or visit the transmission website at www.pseg.com/69kV.
