[ARCHIVED] Hopewell Township is collecting donations for Afghan refugees in NJ

NJ Veterans Chamber of Commerce logo with state of NJ shape with a flag

This week NJ Governor Phil Murphy welcomed American allies evacuated from Afghanistan to NJ. Already interpreters and others who worked with the American military have started arriving at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. In many cases, these people and their families escaped Afghanistan with the clothes on their backs and are in desperate need of clothes and additional items. In response, the American Red Cross, with support from the NJ State Veterans Chamber of Commerce, is collecting needed items to help them. Jeff Cantor, Founder and CEO of the NJ State Veterans Chamber, is spearheading this humanitarian mission. He says “These people put their lives at risk to support US Forces.” In Hopewell Valley, this effort is being led by Hopewell Township Police Director Robert “Bob” Karmazin. Please see the attached flyer for items that are desperately needed. Donations can be dropped off at the Hopewell Township Department of Public Works building at 203 Washington Crossing - Pennington Road. Titusville, NJ 08560. Donations will be accepted Monday- Friday 7:00am -3:00pm. Call 609-737-3100 x5170 with questions.
