[ARCHIVED] PSE&G System Upgrades Update-Upcoming Road Detours

PSE&G has been upgrading the electric system in Hopewell Township, this includes the construction of the new Switching Station and the installation of taller, sturdier utility poles and electric wiring along roadways in the township. PSE&G expects construction of underground manholes and electrical equipment to begin on or about May 1, 2019, and to be completed by August 2019. Underground construction will take place along the following roadways:

  • Pennington Lawrenceville Road between Blackwell Road and Federal City Road
  • Federal City Road between Pennington Lawrenceville Road and Blackwell Road 

Work activities will take place during the daytime, between 8:30AM and 6:30PM, Monday through Friday. Work schedules are estimates, weather dependent and subject to change. Some aspects of this activity may result in noise. PSE&G does not expect this project to cause any service interruptions. Detours and road closures are required during construction and will be coordinated with the Hopewell Police department and traffic control. Federal City Road between Pennington Lawrenceville Road and Blackwell Road, will be closed from 9AM-6PM. However, local traffic will continue o have access to residential driveways.
