Key Primary Election Deadlines:


March 21, 2026 - Nomination Petition Filing Deadline for Primary

May 12, 2026 - Voter Registration Deadline

May 20, 2026 - Mailing of Sample Ballots

May 26, 2026 - Deadline to Apply for Mail-In Ballots

June 2, 2026 - Deadline for In-Person Mail-In Ballot Application (Must apply at County Clerk's Office).  

Primary Early Voting 

Mercer County residents can vote early in person from Tuesday, May 26th through Sunday, May 31st.  Early voting hours are Monday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

Voters may cast their ballots at any of the following locations:

  • Ewing: Mercer County Office Park, 1440 Parkside Avenue, Ewing, NJ 08638
  • East Windsor: Hickory Corner Branch, Mercer County Library, 138 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor, NJ 08520

Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 2nd. Voting early helps you avoid the lines and make your voice heard on your schedule.

The Mercer County Board of Elections is actively recruiting for new Election Board Workers (must be registered Mercer County voters or students 16-17 years old).

Bilingual residents who speak English, as well as Gujarati, Hindi, Mandarin, Punjabi, or Spanish fluently are especially needed.

Vote by Mail Ballots

If you are a qualified and registered voter of Hopewell Township who wants to vote by mail in any election, you must complete a Vote by Mail Application Form. Deadlines for application can be found in the tables above. Application forms may be obtained online from the Mercer County or New Jersey Division of Elections websites, or in person at the following locations:

Mail-in ballots will not be provided to any applicant unless the request is received at least 7 days before the election; however, a voter may request an application in person from the County Clerk up to 3 p.m. the day before the election. Update Your Voter Registration Signature

If your signature has changed since your original voter registration, it is recommended that you re-register to vote so your signature is current and can be matched to the one on your registration when voting.  If you have become disabled and can no longer sign your signature when voting, please reach out to the Mercer County Superintendent of Elections Office at 609-989-6750 for further information on your voter registration.
