Roads are scheduled to be resurfaced as part of Hopewell Township’s annual Road Maintenance Program, starting on or about Thursday, November 3, 2022, for approximately two weeks. Work will occur 8:00am- 5:00pm, weather permitting.
Resurfacing will be accomplished by first removing 2” of the existing pavement surface by milling with a milling machine. Driving on milled surfaces is permitted. Minor delays of 5 minutes should be anticipated. Please follow the contractor’s directions and all traffic control devices during this work. Use caution around manholes, water valves and driveway entrances.
After milling, distressed areas of the base pavement will be repaired. These repairs will be made in isolated areas. Vehicular access is unlimited during this work. Minor delays of 5 minutes should be anticipated. Please follow the contractor’s direction and all traffic control devices during this work.
This will be followed by the placement of a new 2” thick layer of hot mix asphalt surface course pavement. During this process, there will be limited access to the road and driveways. Restrictions could last up to 1 hour depending on weather and other conditions. Contractor personnel on-site will help direct you during these restrictions. Refrain from walking pets on newly placed pavement for at least 24 hours.
Roads will be open to emergency vehicles, garbage trucks, mail vehicles and local traffic at all times.
Please use caution on milled pavement as there may be loose gravel and irregularities in the surface and bicycle riding, walking and running will be challenging.
The following schedule is anticipated to complete the work, however, weather, varying pavement conditions and other unforeseen events could delay the schedule.
The Township and Top Line Construction thank you in advance for your cooperation during these much needed improvements
