[ARCHIVED] You can save a life! Free Narcan supplies available at the Hopewell branch of Mercer County Library

Overdose death is preventable with a bottle with pills pouring out

In partnership with the New Jersey Department of Human Services, the Mercer County Library System is participating in New Jersey’s Naloxone Distribution Program – designed to ensure communities across Mercer County impacted by the opioid epidemic have low-barrier access to Naloxone (Narcan).

Each of the nine MCLS branches has kits available for distribution, and no prescription is needed.  The Narcan kits are available at MCL-Hopewell. A kit includes a supply of Naloxone with instructions, as well as educational information and resources.

It’s important to know that under NJ’s Good Samaritan Law, a person calling in good faith in the event of an opioid-related overdose, for themselves or others, is immune from arrest, charges, and prosecution. Learn more at https://nextdistro.org/policies.

The Hopewell branch of the Mercer County Library System is open Monday- Thursday 9:30am- 8:30pm and Friday- Saturday 9am- 5pm. More information is available at https://mcl.org/services/narcan/.
