A Cancer Thriving & Surviving Workshop (virtual) will be offered starting on February 16th at 6 pm by the Hunterdon-Mercer Chronic Disease Coalition. This evidence-based program is designed to help individuals impacted by cancer (including family members & caregivers) to better manage their health and daily lives. The health needs of cancer survivors are different from those who have never faced a cancer diagnosis. Survivors may be at risk of developing health problems because of their disease or the effects of cancer treatments and often develop multiple chronic conditions.
In New Jersey, cancer survival rates have been increasing across all races and ethnicities since 2010 with currently 335,000 cancer survivors in the state. The workshop is free and runs for 6 weeks.
