[ARCHIVED] Stay safe during the heat wave

All time heat records are being set all over the US. Extreme heat is dangerous for everyone, but especially pregnant people, newborns, children, older people, and people with some medical conditions. Please take care of yourselves- drink lots of water, restrict outdoor activities, and, if you have to be outside, try to stay out of the sun. Rest in the air conditioning. Take cool showers! And don’t forget it’s hot for your pets, too! Never, ever, leave pets in the car, even for a minute.

If you are feeling weak, stop sweating, have a throbbing headache, feel nauseous or dizzy, are vomiting, etc., you may be experiencing heat stroke. Call 9-1-1!

If you need to cool off, the Hopewell Township Municipal Building is open Monday- Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Come over and cool off in our AC. The Mercer County Library- Hopewell is open until 8:30 tonight and until 5pm on Friday and Saturday.
