[ARCHIVED] Notice of Road Work: Federal City Road

Notice of Road Work

Federal City Road

(Pennington-Lawrenceville Road to Blackwell Road)

Hopewell Township, Mercer County, New Jersey

Beginning on or about July 11, 2017 between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm Federal City Road between Pennington-Lawrenceville Road and Blackwell Road will be under construction for resurfacing.

Resurfacing will be accomplished by first removing the existing pavement surface by milling with a milling machine.  Driving on milled surfaces is permitted.

After milling, distressed areas of the pavement will be repaired. This will be followed by the placement of a new 2” thick layer of hot mix asphalt. During this placement process there will be restricted access to the road and driveways. Restrictions could last up to 1 hour depending on weather conditions. Contractor personnel on-site will help direct you during these restrictions.

The road will be closed to thru traffic between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. Roads will be open to local residents, garbage trucks, mail vehicles and emergency vehicles at all times.

Please use caution on the milled pavement as there may be loose gravel and irregularities in the surface and bicycle riding, walking and running will be challenging.

The Township and Earle Asphalt Company thanks you in advance for your cooperation during these much needed improvements.
