NJ covid

NJ Department of Health Update

A total of 39 states and territories are now on the Travel Advisory List, including Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Nonessential travel to and from these states is highly discouraged.

There has been an increase in transmission associated with gatherings, especially indoors. From September to October, 17% of transmissions were associated with indoor parties and gatherings. Hospitalizations associated with COVID-19 are increasing and are at their highest levels in three months.

An updated Executive Directive for Long Term Care facilities allows the use of rapid antigen testing and eases restrictions for indoor visitations.

The CDC recently modified their definition of a close contact. The new definition is now “a person who spent 15 minutes or more within a 24-hour period and was within 6 feet of a person who is infected with COVID-19."
