[ARCHIVED] Notice of Road Work: Pennington Titusville Road

Notice of Road Work: Pennington Titusville Road

Beginning on Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 between the hours of 8:00AM-4:30PM Pennington Titusville Road will be resurfaced by micro paving. Please seek alternative routes during this timeframe and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Micro Paving involves the spreading of a thin layer of liquid asphalt premixed in a specialized truck with sand and fine stone. As this layer hardens it turns black in color.  This will be the final surface on your roadway.

This work will be performed in a manner that completes one-half of the road at a time. During the work, no on-street parking will be permitted. In addition, use of driveways along the work area may be prohibited for a short period (15 to 30 minutes) while the materials harden. Please have all lawn irrigation systems shut down between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:30 pm.   Contractor personnel on-site will be available to help you gain access to your home during the work.

Roads will be open to local residents, emergency vehicles, school buses, USPS and garbage trucks at all times during the work.  The road will be closed to through traffic.  If you approach the road while work is in progress please let the traffic directors know you live on the road and they will instruct you on how to access your residence.

Working with liquid asphalt is challenging.  Liquid asphalt when wet will stick to shoes, clothing, cars and paws. It is extremely difficult to remove.  Please do not drive, walk or allow pets near any wet material.  There will also be loose stone until the final hard surface is applied and bicycle riding, walking and running will be challenging. These stones will be swept up approximately one week after the work is complete.

The Township and our paving contractors Top Line Construction and Asphalt Paving Systems thank you in advance for your cooperation during these much needed improvements.
