Hi, I am Hopewell Township Deputy Mayor Courtney Peters-Manning, here with some updates from the Township Committee for the month of February.

COVID-19 is still spreading widely in the Hopewell Valley, so our health officer continues to urge residents to wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash hands often, and limit gatherings to only people who live in your household.  

Our health office has been taking names of vaccine-eligible Hopewell Valley Residents (Township + Boroughs).  Starting mid-week the first week of February, there will be a form available on our website for Valley residents only.  You must be eligible for the vaccine and a resident to be included on the list. Thank you for your patience as we work to be ready to distribute any vaccine that is made available to us from the State.

We are back to the first and third Mondays for Township Committee meetings this month, though because of President’s day the third week’s meeting will be on Tuesday the 16^th.  We are in the thick of budget season, so there will be a budget meeting at 5pm before each Township meeting, as well as on February 8^th and 22^nd.

For our first meeting of the month on Monday, February 1^st, we will have another COVID-19 update from our health officer Dawn Marling, and we will celebrate Black History Month with a Resolution honoring the contributions of Black residents of the Hopewell Valley.  We also will have an update from Bonnie Williams, chair of the Citizen’s Equity Advisory Committee, about their current projects and plans for the year.

This month we also will begin tackling new stormwater regulations and submit our recommendation on the Mine Road Bridge to Mercer County.  Thank you to everyone who came out last month both to the meeting as well as via email to submit your comments.
