Congratulations on your promotion, Steve Harbat!

Hopewell Township Public Works Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Steve Harbat to Heavy Equipment Operator. A 23 year veteran of the Public Works team, Steve is happy to have the opportunity to showcase the skills he gained running the equipment at his family’s farm, on which he was raised and where he still spends much of his time. Harbat Farm was established in Pennington in 1932 by his grandparents and has been operated by the family ever since.

Steve loves his job with the Township. In fact, he says he doesn’t consider it a job at all. He says “I consider this town to be my home. I take great pride in what I do.”

Bob Ongradi, Public Works’ Senior Road Foreman, says, “Steve has always expressed an interest in the opportunity to advance to equipment operator. Steve would jump at the opportunity to run any piece of equipment. He was given the opportunity to run a new piece of TWP equipment on the section of LHT between Scotch Rd and Timberland Dr. Steve's participation in this project helped make it a success. Moving forward with Steve's promotion to Heavy Equipment Operator, I believe his attention to detail and planning will fit well in this position, adding to the Township’s productivity. I am looking forward to working with Steve in his new capacity.”

Steve lives in Titusville. When not at work, you can find him at a dirt motorsport race, a lifelong passion.
