Hopewell Township Public Works is proud to announce the promotion of TJ Burd to Truck Driver. Part of the DPW team for three years, he has big shoes to fill because he is the 3rd generation of his family to serve the Township as members of the Department of Public Works! His father Tom worked for DPW for eight years and his Uncle Victor retired from the Township after 37 years of service. TJ’s grandfather Joe and his twin brother Henry were some of the first Public Works employees for the Township.
TJ grew up in West Amwell and currently lives in the Township with his wife Meghan and 4 year old daughter Riley. He says, “The thing I like most about working for the Township is that it gives me a platform to serve my community.” He also says that his crew at Public Works is the best he has ever worked with, with everyone having a specialty, resulting in excellent teamwork.
About TJ, George Snyder, Director of Public Works, says, “TJ joined the Hopewell Township Public Works Department nearly three years ago, and he has exceptional technical knowledge, which he shares with the rest of the Department. He is an outstanding member of the Public Works team with a great work ethic. TJ enjoys his work as well as serving the Hopewell community.”
When not working, TJ spends most of his time enjoying outdoor activities with his wife and daughter. They enjoy going to the park, barbequing, and going to the Philadelphia zoo.
Congratulations on your promotion, TJ!
