[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Update July 19, 2021

99% of new Covid deaths and hospitalizations are people who are unvaccinated graphic

COVID-19 continues to circulate in Hopewell Valley, with the Health Department averaging 4 cases per week over the past month. We are continuing to monitor the potential impact of variants and the best way for us to keep our community safe & healthy is to ensure that every eligible adult and child is vaccinated.

The FDA and CDC take vaccine safety very seriously. The identification of any possible risks is a sign that the nation’s safety monitoring system for COVID-19 vaccines is working. The risk of severe adverse events after any COVID-19 vaccination remains very low –-and far lower than adverse health outcomes associated with contracting COVID-19 disease. Nearly all hospitalizations and deaths in the United States are now occurring among unvaccinated people and the CDC continues to recommend that everyone age 12 years and older receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
