Beginning on or around Wednesday, September 1, 2021, underground construction activities will take place along Pennington Rocky Hill Road between Moores Mill-Mt. Rose Road and Carter Road as highlighted on the map below. Work hours will be between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. This portion of work is scheduled to continue for six weeks. Temporary paving and restoration will occur every evening, and final paving and restoration is expected to be completed by early April 2022 due to the required settlement period. All schedules are estimates, weather dependent and subject to change.
This construction is part of PSE&G's statewide effort to rebuild the electric system infrastructure by bringing 69kV power throughout the state, to replace its 50-plus year old, 26kV lines. There are no planned electric service outages as a result of this activity.
To safely complete this portion of work, a road closure will be utilized in the work area during the work hours listed above. Detours will be in place to redirect traffic. Residents within the work zone will always have access to their property. Please notify the officer on-site if your driveway is blocked and they will accommodate all access needs immediately once safety protocols are implemented. Delivery companies (UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc.) Waste Management and the Postal Service will also be allowed into the work area.
For questions or more information about the project, please call PSE&G’s Electric Reliability Hotline at 1-800-606-0045 or visit the transmission website at www.pseg.com/69kV.
