[ARCHIVED] PSE&G Hopewell Switching Station Project

The PSE&G Hopewell Switching Project is a $110 million investment to improve the performance of the electric transmission system and maintain safe, reliable electric service for residents and businesses in Hopewell Township and the surrounding area.

The new station will be located at 2451 Pennington Road (Route 31) and will connect to new utility poles and overhead wiring to be installed along Pennington Road, Blackwell Road, Pennington-Lawrence Road, Federal City Road and Cold Soil Road. In keeping with the Board of Public Utilities Vegetation Management Rules, we will also trim and remove trees, where necessary, in advance of upgrading utility poles. The utility pole installation is estimated to begin in late 2018. Construction of the new station will begin March 2018. The station will be in-service by the fall of 2020, with landscaping and final restoration completed by the end of that same year. Work will be completed between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, as well as some extended weekend work, as needed.

Safety is PSE&G’s first priority. PSEG will work closely with the Hopewell Police Department to minimize any traffic concerns or inconvenience to the public during construction activity. There are no planned electric service outages caused by this work. If you have any questions about this project, please call the Hopewell Project information line at 1-800-606-0045.
