September is National Preparedness Month. This month we will be sending out regular posts about things you can do in your home to be prepared if an emergency or disaster occurs.
Step 4: Practice your plan with your household
Once you have completed your Family Emergency Communication Plan and made sure everyone has a copy, it's time to practice. To help start your family discussion, you might want to watch It Started Like Any Other Day, about families who have experienced a disaster.
After you practice, discuss how it went and what improvements could be made. Remember, practice will help make the execution of the plan second nature.
