Hello. I’m Michael Ruger, Hopewell Township Deputy Mayor, with some information about events taking place in February.
The Hopewell Township Committee will meet on Monday, February 7th, and Tuesday, February 22nd. The February 7th meeting will be virtual. We’ll decide later in the month whether to meet in person on February 22nd.
February 1st is Lunar New Year. And February is Black History Month. We’ll have a special presentation and adopt a resolution at our February 7th meeting.
At our February 22nd meeting, we plan to consider a payment in lieu of taxes, or PILOT, program for the Hopewell Parc project on Scotch Road. Please plan to attend the meeting, learn about the PILOT program, and let us what you think.
As a follow-up to our special meeting in January, we may consider an introduction of an ordinance that would permit retail cannabis sales in Hopewell Township.
We’ll continue working on the Township budget throughout the month and hold special budget meetings.
And our many citizen volunteer committees will meet throughout the month.
To learn about any of these meetings, please visit the Hopewell Township website at www.hopewelltwp.org. For Hopewell Township news, please visit the Hopewell Township Facebook page, Instagram, or Twitter. And you can always call the Township at 609-737-0605 with any questions.
As a reminder, property taxes are due on February 1st with the grace period ending on February 10th. Taxes must be received at the Township Building by that date in order to be considered filed on time.
Township offices will be closed on Friday, February 11th, in honor of Lincoln’s Birthday, and Monday, February 21st in honor of Presidents’ Day.
Thanks for listening, and stay safe, Hopewell Township.
