We are so happy you're here!

Dear New Neighbors,

On behalf of the Township Committee and the entire community, we would like to extend a warm welcome as you begin this exciting new chapter of your life in Hopewell Township. We are so pleased that you have chosen to make our town your home.

Nestled in the heart of beautiful central New Jersey, historic Hopewell Township offers rolling hills, the scenic Delaware River, and miles of winding hiking trails which provide a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whether you’re out for a walk, a bike ride, or simply taking in the views, you’ll quickly come to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds us. As the place where George Washington and his troops landed after they crossed the Delaware in 1776 on their way to the Battle of Trenton, which turned the tide of the Revolutionary War, we in Hopewell Township are proud of our history yet look forward to the future with excitement.

Even more importantly, our community is known for its friendly neighbors and strong sense of connection. You’ll find that people here look out for one another, and we work together to make Hopewell Township a wonderful place to live. The Township Committee also partners with our excellent Hopewell Valley Regional School District, which is consistently ranked among New Jersey’s best.

Throughout the year, Hopewell hosts a variety of fun and engaging community events. Keep an eye on our website, email newsletter, and social media for up-to-date news about what’s going on. Our events are a wonderful way to meet your neighbors, enjoy the local culture, and become an active part of the community. We are especially looking forward to the 250th Anniversary of the United States and Washington’s landing in 2026, and there will be activities all year for the commemoration.

We also pride ourselves on the safety and cleanliness of our town. With a community-focused and extremely responsive Police Department, a robust Fire and Emergency Services Department with both career and volunteer staff, and well-maintained roads, parks, and public spaces, you can rest easy knowing that Hopewell is a place where you and your family can feel comfortable and secure.

Once again, welcome to Hopewell Township. We are excited to have you here and hope you will take full advantage of all that our town has to offer. Should you need any assistance or have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to help you feel at home.

Warm regards,
