Commercial Farm Inspections / Information

Commercial Farm Inspections have been required under the Uniform Fire Safety Act N.J.S.A.52:27D-192 et seq (P.L. 1983, CHAPTER 383, approved November 12, 1983. While historically commercial farms have only been inspected if they were open to the public at the time of a special event or if open to the public as part of normal operations. Recently the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety as a result of a complaint in South Jersey, discovered fire safety code violations on commercial farms that were not open to the public. Subsequently, the State has required all Local Enforcing Agencies to begin inspecting all commercial farms. Below are documents and information that will help explain what has happened and what we are doing going forward. If you have any questions, please contact our office.
